Getting Moving

Handbook 3

Handbook Number 3 is the sequel to handbook number 1 (Getting Started) and covers Locomotive building from kit bashing to scratch building. With contributions from Howard Clarke, Adrian Gray, Rowland Binns, Keith Millard, Jim Riley and Russ Freer, the reader is presented with many ideas to move forward into loco building. Kit building includes Chivers L&B 2-6-4T with R-T-R chassis to the virtually complete kit of TR No 4 from Wrightlines. Howard Clarke’s items on scratch building take the reader through the building of both steam and diesel locos, whilst Keith Millard covers chassis building. The final articles are "A first attempt" by Jim Riley and "Finishing your models" by Howard Clarke. The final piece is by Russ Freer describing a loco for under £20. In the middle of the book is a detailed list of available Loco kits and the final page has a list of suppliers. Available from Publication sales
