SECOND HAND SALES

Sales Officer - Bob Cope

This service is for members wishing to dispose of surplus 7mm narrow gauge modelling equipment, or wanting to add to their collections by acquiring used equipment. This is a service to members and any surplus which arises, after all the costs involved have been met, is donated to the Association’s funds.

Association Members may use this service in either of two ways: to sell on Commission terms, or offer items for outright purchase by the Association.

COMMISSION SALES

The second hand department will try to buy in items offered. However, the department will continue to accept members’ items on a commission basis but please note, only at shows.

Members who wish to sell items at a show, on a commission basis, may leave them with the Sales Officer for the duration of the show. Unsold items must be collected at the end of the show. A buyer will pay the agreed price to the Association. The seller will receive the price realised by the sale, less 10% to cover costs and will be paid by an Association cheque as soon as possible after the show (normally 2-3 weeks). Title to the goods remains with the seller at his risk until sold, and is not covered by the Association’s insurance policy.

OUTRIGHT SALES

Suitable items may be offered to the Second Hand Sales Officer for valuation. The Sales Officer will decide whether to accept the items concerned and offer a valuation. Items for sale may be accepted from non-members or former members but will only be offered for sale to members. The Sales Officer’s decision is final. Items purchased by the Association will be paid for by an Association cheque. Goods remain the property of the seller until the Association has paid for them. Cheques for purchases should be made payable to the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association, and purchasers will be responsible for any relevant postage and packing costs in addition to the purchase price.

The Association reserves the right to charge for credit cards, depending on the charges levied by the credit card providers.
